P2 director Franck Khalfoun exclusively told GoreZone that he would now like to explore other genres, “I don’t want to do the same thing over again, I would like to see a challenge, but if the next project for me is a horror movie and we talked about it and I could write a couple that I like ...but it’s nothing that I’m getting ready to do now. I would love to do other things, to explore other genres and to tell a story. It COULD be a horror film if the story’s good. I’m going to concentrate on stories and telling good ones rather than particular genres.”

The full interview with Khalfoun can be read in Issue #32 out May 8th 2008

REVIEW: Prom Night II: Hello Mary Lou has finally found its way onto DVD for the very first time. While the movie has clearly dated the actual film is a ride to hell and back on a Harley Davidson. The film mix’s elements of both A Nightmare on elm Street II: Freddy’s revenge, Poltergeist III and Carrie.

Action movies with female leads never seem to be able to hit the mark but the horror genre has produced some very memorable bitches. Amelia Kinkade out performed Freddy Krueger in the camp stakes in Night of the Demons 1 to 3 while Pamela Springstein entertained as the counselor/serial killer in the Sleepaway camp sequels.

Prom Night 2 is now available from MGM and can be purchased direct from usdirect.co.uk as seen in issue 31 and 32 of GoreZone Magazine.

TRILOQUIST: Above is the cover of the upcoming Dimension Extreme’s July 15 DVD release of TRILOQUIST, the latest offering from LEPRECHAUN creator Mark Jones. In the film a teenage girl and her younger brother go on the road after their ventriloquist mother dies of a drug overdose, taking along their mum’s dummy - which seems to have a murderous life of its own. The cast includes Paydin LoPachin, Rocky Marquette, Katie Chonacas, Robert DiTillio and Bruce Weitz as the voice of the dummy.

April Fools Day remake: (Above) GoreZone was right to avoid this title like the plague. Other horror magazines published articles on this utter white head. Its trash, but trash in a bad way think of a spot you wish you never had.  Josh Henderson’s performance is cringe inducing, I really don’t have anything good to say about this flick. If you cannot sit through an episode of Days of our Lives don’t waste you buck on this.

If you really want to see how bad this movie is usdirect.co.uk is the place to go, not interested in the remake? Get the original at filmvault.co.uk. To view the trailer CLICK HERE

Karl Urban is set to star in RELENTLESS, a 3-D thriller in the CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST mode that rolls this September in Puerto Rico for $25-million. The film is set in the jungles of the Amazon, where a quartet of extreme sportsmen who have survived a plane crash must fight for their lives against homicidal natives.
Devon Sawa (Idol Hands) returns to the horror fold after an absence from celluloid while he beat the bulge. No I’m not talking about what he carries in his pants! The actor gained a lot of weight and studio casting agents stopped using the teen star.

His new movie is called Creature of Darkness and is about four young couples drawn to the remote dunes for off-roading in their extreme machines. But the outing turns into a night of terror when they are attacked by the Catcher, a skilled and brutal hunter of human specimens for alien science.

The Summer of the Massacre is set to be re-released this summer.
Victor Salva is prepping not only JEEPERS CREEPERS 3 THE CREEPER WALKS AMONG US, but also a fourth film in the franchise, which is said to shoot back-to-back for MGM. While the studio plans on releasing the films direct-to-DVD, Salva has hopes that we might see one the films in theaters by 2009. Both movies are still only in the optioned stages.
Silent Hill 2 will be produced by Samuel Hadida whose previous credits include the Resident Evil franchise a Freeway II. He’s also producing Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
