DAY OF THE DEAD Remake: First Look Home Entertainment has announced the DVD release date for Steve Miner's DAY OF THE DEAD, a remake of George A. Romero's '80s zombie entry. Written by Jeff Reddick, the film stars Mena Suvari and Nick Cannon as they take on a zombie outbreak in a small Colorado town. Special features will be:
- Commentary provided by Jeffrey Reddick, Steve Miner and Cast Members.
- An 'Internet Only' Trailer.
- Alternate Ending.
- 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround, Previews, Subtitles: English SDH and Spanish (special features subject to change).
Christa Campbell to be featured in issue 29 on sale Feb 14th ‘08
ESCALOFRÍO (SHIVER): The new Spanish horror film called ESCALOFRÍO (SHIVER) will have its world premiere at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival, in the Panorama section. Directed by Isidro (FAUSTO 5.0) Ortiz from a script he wrote with Alejandro Hernández, José Gamo and Hernán Migoya, the movie has been picked up for worldwide sales outside Spain by the new Coach 14 company. SOLOMON KANE: A group of actors and actresses with heavy genre experience among them have been cast in SOLOMON KANE, the screen adaptation of CONAN creator Robert E. Howard's supernatural adventure tale. Joining James (RESIDENT EVIL) Purefoy are Max (THE EXORCIST) von Sydow, Pete (DARK WATER) Postlethwaite, Rachel (AN AMERICAN HAUNTING) Hurd-Wood, Alice Krige. Production will start later this month in Prague
AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION: Dimension Extreme and Genius Entertainment released the specs for their March 4 release of AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION. Writer/director Steven C. Miller’s gruesome saga of three teenagers battling military-created zombies will be presented unrated in widescreen, with the following extras:
• Audio commentary by Miller and producers William Clevinger and Mark Thalman.
• Trials and Tribulations: The Making of AUTOMATON TRANSFUSION featurette.
• Deleted scenes with optional director’s commentary.
• SUFFER OR SACRIFICE short film by Miller.
• “Can You Hear Me Now” music video by Blinded Black.

Upon the release Steve told Gorezone exclusively “They [Dimension] approached me with the idea and I immediatly said yes. This is a film for the fans, so what better way to show them this flick rests on there shoulders than having them toss in there creativity.”

THE RUINS will be hitting cinemas this summer and guarantees to be the one to look out for. The film is about a group of friends whose leisurely Mexican holiday takes a turn for the worse when they, along with a fellow tourist embark on a remote archaeological dig in the jungle, where something evil lives among the ruins.Gore is aplenty, gorezone was shown a short 2min sample that included a creature that lived under the skin of the lead actress (Laura Ramsey) who is torn between cutting it out or dieing great stuff and amazing SFX’s.
BLOOD: A BUTCHER'S TALE: Below are images from the New Christa Campbell horror flick. Blood: A Butcher's Tale, embodies the harrowing story of Sam, a simple yet effective butcher. He has mastered the art of slaughter and is considered a master craftsman at the meat processing plant. Sam is destined to follow the path of innate brutality, when he discovers the true reason why Darcy, the love of his life, is becoming emotionally disassociated. Out of desperation he follows her to a destination that will change the course for history forever. Sam is voyeur to a sensual encounter, between Darcy and a charismatic Casanova, with a fetish for finger foods. As he investigates further, Sam discovers what seems to be the final generation of existing vampires. In a painful attempt to reform his bloodlust infatuated fiancé, he experiences a long overdue epiphany, vampirism is a disease and he is the cure. Sam's universe now spirals to a series of surreal episodes as he tracks down and disposes of the few remaining vampires. Finally he tracks down and prepares to dispatch the sole remaining survivor, Lily. An unwilling blood hunter, she, like Sam, is torn between living the everlasting romance of the undead and his moral obligation to cleanse. Helplessly, Sam falls in love Lily and learns to respect her desire to be human. Sam readjusts to his life, with his new found partner, and learns to live with the differences between the two races. But can Sam rest in the knowledge that he is riding the line between dead and not?
