LOCAL LADS FUND SCARY MOVIE ON EBAY TO CREATE A CLASSIC HALLOWEEN HORROR
HORROR MOVIE MAKES IT ONTO SALFORD FILM FESTIVAL LINE UP

Three local filmmakers, who loved horror movies so much that they sold their belongings on ebay to come up with the funding to make their own movie – have just been announced as part of the line up for the Salford Film Festival – just in time for Halloween.

'Mark Macready and the Archangel Murders' is an independent horror/comedy film that was shot on location in Salford by local filmmakers, Sean Candon, Ryan McDermott and Paul Feeney who all met on a media course at Pendleton College in 2002.

To be screened in the shorts section at the film festival, it has a huge cult following on Facebook and is one of Manchester’s most talked about short films. It’s set to be make an impact at the Salford Film Festival which returns from 20th to 24th November.

The film tells the story of Manchester: the supernatural crime hub of the 21st Century. Here butt-kicking super-cop Mark “Mac” Macready must do battle with the misogynous mass-murdering monster known as the Archangel. With his beloved wife’s immortal soul hanging in the balance, it’s a race against time for Mac to rescue his wife and stop the Archangel before its too late...

A true underdog story, it was refused funding by the funding bodies and it seemed like it would never get made until the filmmakers decided to sell their processions and get friends and family to donate via Facebook!

Listed as the 7th MUST SEE Halloween film this year, beating Zombieland and the classic 'Night of the Living Dead'. The film has gone onto receive a five star review by Gorezone magazine the world-wide number one selling horror film magazine who hailed it as 'Truly Independent British filmmaking at its best'.
