“Few people know that Nightmare was edited three times.  I refused the first two cuts, till the movie was given to an editor I liked.  The bloody and disturbing scenes were intended that way, and to edit the film I convinced David Jones, the producer, that it was necessary for the best of the film having the slaughters on screen instead of off screen.  I can say that I was the first director who had the courage to be so graphic and gruesome in order to tell my story.” - Romano Scavolini - CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
NIGHTMARE IN A DAMAGED BRAIN
GREG NICOTERO
Just a quick glance through your résumé shows that you have worked on some of the biggest movies of the last twenty years.  Do you send portfolios out to producers or do they usually seek you out?

“Well, we have a demo reel that we send out but about seventy-five to eighty percent of our work is repeat work.  We’ve worked on most of Robert Rodriquez’s films, done four or five for Steven Spielberg.  In February we celebrated our twentieth year as a company.  We’ve really been able to skim across different types of films.”

How did you first get involved in special effects and how did you get your first big break?

“I grew up in Pittsburgh ñ land of George Romero and his zombie world.  I became friends with Tom Savini when I visited the set of Creepshow.  In 1984 I was offered a job as a production assistant on Day of the Dead, but I really wanted to do effects with Tom.  So I first moved to New York, and then later to LA.  Then my next big gig was Evil Dead 2 in 1986.”

GOREZONE'S WEEKEND OF HORROR
ALEX PUCCI (director; FRAT HOUSE MASSACRE)

When did you first develop an interest in cinema and how did you first become involved in the industry?

"I have been working in independent film for a little over ten years and started out initially as a casting director and acting coach From those experiences I developed an understanding of what I wanted do as both a producer and director. My love of horror goes back to the early Italian masters and how they were interpreted during the late 70s and 80s in the US. That provided the artistic focus for screamkings.com as we work to honor those styles with a unique and modern edge."

CIRCUS OF HORRORS
Have you ever seen a man climb through a tennis racket?  Or a dwarf take the cap off a beer bottle with his eyelid?  Well, you will see all that and more at the Circus of Horrors, currently touring the country in all its blood-soaked glory.  Like some deranged bastard child of the Grand Guignol and an Alice Cooper show, the Circus are an eccentric group of musicians, sadists and acrobats that take great delight in showering their audiences with blood, sweat and tears while they perform stomach-churning, death-defying stunts like some gothic version of Jackass.
